The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!”

Ephesians 4:1-6

Therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, I urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Ephesians 4:7-8

But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift. Therefore it says, “When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.”

Every single believer in Christ, without exception, has been given some grace.

A grace that follows saving grace. An additional grace. A grace that gives us gifts of ministry as Christ has distributed them.

We are rewarded for our godliness, not our giftedness.

Ephesians 4:7-13

But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift. Therefore it says, “When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.” (In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth? He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

We don’t just have God’s gifts. We are God’s gifts to HIs church!

Pursuit 1 - The Presence Of God.

At New Song Church, we pursue the presence of God by seeking Him first and above all else.

Pursuit 2 - Transformational Discipleship.

We pursue transformational discipleship by focusing on spiritual formation and every Christian’s destiny to progressively grow in Christlikeness.

Pursuit 3 - Kingdom Community.

We pursue relational community by living into the reality of the family of God and desiring unity across generational, racial, political, and economic divides.

Our relationships with others are not only the testing grounds of our spiritual life but also the places where our growth toward wholeness in Christ happens. The temptation is to think that our spiritual growth takes place in the privacy of our personal relationship with God and then, once it is sufficiently developed, we can export it into our relationships with others and we can “be Christian” with them. But the process of being formed in Christ takes places in the midst of our relationship with others, not apart from them. -Robert Mulholland Jr.

Ephesians 2:19

You share citizenship with God's people and are members of His family.

Acts 2:42-47

All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.

Pursuit 4 - Sacrificial Mission

We pursue sacrificial mission by giving, serving, and loving sacrificially in our homes, our church, our community, and the world. our homes, our church, our community, and the world.

Anyone can give, love, and serve when it’s convenient and costs little, but we are not called to give, love, and serve like anyone- we are called to give, love and serve like Jesus.

We all know that the greatest sacrifice has already been made- Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, which has set us free from having to make sacrifices to earn our salvation but which also summons us to want to make sacrifices as an expression of gratitude to God and love to others. The degree of sacrifice as well as the kind of sacrifice will vary, depending on context and calling. Some will work in the slums of Africa, others will raise a large family; some will take on a job that pays a low salary, others will make lots of money and give most of it away. There is no absolute rule to follow here, no perfect standard against which to measure both quality and quantity of sacrifice. Comparisons are simply out of the question. Only one truth applies to all: the ultimate sacrifice we make should be the whole of ourselves to God. And then we should simply let life take its course.-Gerald Sittser

Romans 12:1

Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship.
