Equip Night

From the beginning, God told us it was not good to be alone; throughout the Bible, it is reiterated repeatedly how important community is for everything from confession, love, prayer, and accountability to fun and joy! Kingdom Community is much more than Sunday morning pleasantries and small group meetings when convenient for our schedules. It's not just for the "extroverts" or the less busy; God designed Kingdom Community for all His sons and daughters whom He created in His image.

Lack of community deprives us of one of God's greatest gifts: a gift of a rich and challenging life together, one that we need and can receive with joy. Christian community is simply sharing an everyday life in Christ. It moves us beyond the self-interested isolation of private lives and beyond the superficial social contacts that pass for "Christian fellowship." The biblical ideal of community challenges us instead to commit ourselves to life together as the people of God.

We know all too well that maturity takes time. We know less well that it also takes our sisters and brothers in Christ. It's a process revealed in the "each other" language of the New Testament: Love one another, forgive each other, and regard each other more highly than yourselves. Teach and correct each other, encourage each other, pray for each other, and bear each other's burdens. Be friends with one another, kind, compassionate, and generous in hospitality. Serve one another and submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Kingdom Community is more than just living alongside those who think, look, and believe like we do. It is an open heart to extend invitations to those who are not yet in the family. It is a sharing of the joy that Jesus bought for us. It is reaching out into the physical community that God placed us in and sharing the gift of hospitality - even if it is not our strong suit!

Join us as we practically Equip you to be the host of Kingdom Community in three key areas of your life!
