Physical Healing

You’ll never know what to fight for if you don’t know what’s been promised. To contend for heaven on earth, we need a clear vision of what heaven looks like—what’s there, what’s not—and then we can recognize where God’s kingdom needs to break through here.

As It Is In Heaven - Physical Healing

Matthew 4

Luke 11:2 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

God’s will is heaven on earth.

Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.

Jesus came preaching

Matthew 4:17 Repent, turn around, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.

Mark 1:15 The time is fulfilled. The kingdom of God has come near.

Kairos Time vs. Chronos Time

Chronos—time as we measure it

Kairos isn’t about schedules or timelines; it’s about moments.

Kairos: A unique and pivotal moment in time when God intervenes to accomplish something extraordinary, often marking a significant turning point in history.

Kairos is not just about the clock ticking or the calendar flipping. It’s about God’s purposes breaking into our reality—moments where heaven and earth overlap, where God’s timing intersects with ours to accomplish something eternal.

These moments reshape history, not because they happen at the “right time” on our schedule, but because they happen at God’s appointed time. — N.T. Wright

Jesus came announcing that the threshold of the great future has been reached; the concluding drama can start. — Herman Ridderbos

Jesus Came Teaching

Jesus’ teaching wasn’t just about helping people understand the Kingdom of God; it was about calling them to live it, to align their lives with God’s vision for the world.

Jesus came preaching, teaching, and living the Kingdom so we could see it, hear it, and step into it ourselves.

Jesus Came Healing

Because the Kingdom Jesus declared, the Kingdom He explained, is all about restoration.

Healing Is A Primary Issue

The Kingdom of God is God’s creation healed.

Shalom — it’s soundness, wholeness, well-being.

To be saved is to experience God’s wholeness breaking into every part, every dimension of life—body, soul, mind, and spirit.

Jesus came to save all of you!

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.

So there’s no sickness in Heaven. No cancer in Heaven… No autism in Heaven… No migraines in Heaven… No depression in Heaven…

So, if sickness isn’t in heaven… And Jesus brought Heaven to earth… why then do we still experience sickness on earth?

Now & Not Yet

Because of Jesus, God’s kingdom has already arrived. It’s here, present, and breaking through into our world, BUT it’s not yet here in its fullness; It hasn’t taken over yet.

Jesus Purchased Your Healing at the Cross

Isaiah 53:5 He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

“Healed” - sozo - saved from the penalty and power of sin, being physically healed and cured of disease, and deliverance from enemies.

1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins

“Bore” - nasa - to carry, to take upon oneself, or to assume the full weight of something.

Isaiah 53:4 Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried.

“Griefs” - sickness.

“Bore” - anapherō

Jesus carried, He took upon himself and assumed the full weight of our sickness at the cross.

Matthew 8:16-17 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”

He bore the Penalty, Power, Presence

  • He bore the PENALTY of sin
  • Someday we’ll be saved from the PRESENCE of sin.

John 16:33 In this world, you will have trouble.

1 John 5:4 For everyone born of God overcomes the world.

Matthew 10:7-8 As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.

The proclamation of the kingdom must be accompanied by the demonstration of its power. Healing the sick and raising the dead are not just miracles—they are the message of the kingdom in action. — Smith Wigglesworth

The kingdom of Heaven is proclaimed not just through words but through acts of divine power. Healings and miracles are the evidence that God is with us, working in our midst, putting things together again.

How Do I Receive Healing?

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

By grace, we are saved through faith.

You are not saved by faith. You are saved by grace.

We must clearly understand that grace is the foundation of all God’s work. Salvation is the gift of God’s grace, freely given, unmerited, and undeserved. Faith simply reaches out to take hold of what grace has already provided.

Faith does not save; it is the channel through which we receive salvation. — Smith Wigglesworth

Faith is the hand that grasps the grace of God. — Charles Spurgeon

Grace - the unmerited, undeserved, unearned kindness and favor of God.

GRACE FOR SINS - THE CROSS OF JESUS CHRIST

So the cross makes the grace for our salvation available, faith makes it ours.

GRACE FOR SICKNESS - THE CROSS OF JESUS CHRIST

Matthew 8:16-17 He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.

1 Peter 2:24 By His wounds we are healed.

Without grace, there’s nothing to receive—it’s not available.

Without faith, we can’t take hold of it—it’s not receivable.

Faith is only as good as its object.

When Christ says, “All things are possible for the one who believes,” He is not demanding perfect faith but pointing to Himself as the perfect Savior. It is not the strength of faith that matters but the object of faith. — Charles Spurgeon

    1. Jesus came preaching, teaching and healing, and because of Jesus, God’s Kingdom has already arrived. Jesus purchased your healing on the cross. Did you know that healing is available to you today?

    2. We receive healing by grace through faith, not through grace by faith. What healing do you need?

    3. Are you struggling to believe for healing in your life? Are you struggling not with if God can do it, but will He do it?

Remember the man that cried out to Jesus, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24b). God is merciful, and “it is not the strength of faith that matters but the object of faith.” He just needs a little! Are you willing to have faith in Him? Do you find yourself needing help with unbelief in the department of healing?
