Elders at New Song Church

At New Song Church, elders play a vital role in the spiritual health and leadership of our community. Rooted in the model of servant leadership found in Scripture (1 Peter 5:1–5; Matthew 20:25–28), our elders are called to shepherd with humility, guide with wisdom, and lead with integrity.

Elders are entrusted with teaching sound doctrine, caring for the congregation, stewarding resources wisely, and overseeing the church with prayerful discernment. They are not self-appointed, but thoughtfully selected and affirmed after a careful process of prayer, observation, and spiritual evaluation.

Their leadership is marked by service, not control—by love, not dominance. They are accountable before God for the way they lead, and they serve in joyful submission to Jesus, our Chief Shepherd.

Clarifying Our Biblical View on Women In Ministry

One of the most common theological questions brought to our pastors and elders concerns the role of women in the church. Therefore, out of a pastoral response to the questions being asked within our church and broader culture, we are stating a shared theology.
