Stand | A Loyal Heart | 01.10.21
By: Pastor Joshua Blount
2 Chronicles 16:9 The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are loyal to him.
Daniel 3:14-18 14 Nebuchadnezzar said to them, "Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you refuse to serve my gods or to worship the gold statue I have set up? 15 I will give you one more chance to bow down and worship the gold statue I have made when you hear the sound of the musical instruments. But if you refuse, you will be thrown immediately into the blazing furnace. And then what god will be able to rescue you from my power?" 16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. 18 But even if he doesn't, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up."
God is looking for loyalty.
The proof of loyalty is realized when the convenience of disloyalty is rejected.
If your faith in God is conditional, your loyalty will not stand against confrontation.
Stand for God, and He will stand with you.
Ask if anyone has exciting or something new to share with the group.
Play a small portion of a funny group game.
_01. As Pastor Josh stated, "The proof of loyalty is realized when the convenience of disloyalty is rejected." Have you ever rejected the convenience of disloyalty? If so, please share your experience with the group.
_02. Just as King Nebuchadnezzar demanded his subjects worship the gold statue upon hearing music, there are tunes in this world that will ask you to bow down to idols that are not God. The devil is a master of music; in fact, he was the worship leader of heaven, before his fall. What tune are you listening to? Are you bowing to any idols before God?
_03. Nebuchadnezzar had Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego tightly bound before being thrown in the fire. God not only freed them from their ties, but left no evidence that they had even been in the furnace. Has God delivered you through a fire? If so, please share your experience with the group.
_04. God's eyes are searching for loyalty. Will they stop on you?
